CommandProxy:integrate native libraries and launch native executables from an AIR application

logoI’m using Adobe AIR and Flex only because, I wanna built my project(minidx:full-text search engine and file management system) into a AIR/Flex version. Not only a web application but also a desktop application. The Adobe® AIR™ runtime lets developers use proven web technologies to build rich Internet applications that deploy to the desktop and run across operating systems, but unfortunately, in Adobe AIR 1.0, neither the ability to launch native executables from an AIR application nor the ability to integrate native libraries into an AIR application was included.

Adobe Flash Not Good Enough For The iPhone–Is this just a ploy on Job’s part

CNN reported that Steve Jobs has come out saying that Adobe’s Flash technology simply isn’t suitable for the iPhone(Adobe’s Flash Player Not Suited For IPhone, Apple CEO Says).Maybe this is a real bummer for Adobe and many users and developers, because so many games are written for Flash–Flash’s penetration level is so good.

Google Web Accelerator–use the power of Google’s global computer network to make Web pages load faster

Google-Web-AcceleratorGoogle Web Accelerator is an application that uses the power of Google’s global computer network to make web pages load faster. It brings renewed attention to the concept of improving page load times.Google Web Accelerator works a manner similar to that of other web acceleration tools,Google Web Accelerator redirects all domain lookups to Google servers, using Google as your proxy. Because Google already cached a great deal of information about sites into memory, copies of pages you look up are cached by Google’s servers, downloading new data if the page has changed.Google Web Accelerator also can compress site data before sending it to computers.

Fjax–a pretty nifty combination of flash and ajax

In a previous article,Flex vs. Ajax — both have their pros and cons,I listed some arguements about which one is better, but,Fjax–a new “technology”,to my utter amazement,it uses an XML file to pass data to a browser — except that it uses a tiny bit of Flash, instead of the browser, to parse the XML.Though I don’t know what the relationship is with Aflax(Developed by Paul Colton,a development methodology which combines Ajax and Flash to create more dynamic web based applications) and it requires something else to be installed(Though Flash’s penetration level is good),but I think it’s a well though and clean implementation.
