If you are a developer and want to start an open source project, here is a list for you. You can find the sites simple and good for beginner such as Google Code, Github etc, and of course the most known like SF, many version-control-systems, a shell-server, statistics and much more features supported. Anyway, I don’t think there’s a single “best” site, but I think you can find the better for you in this list. Enjoy!

The SourceForge 2.0 beta is ready to roll right now. Open@Adobe, a site aggregating Adobe’s openness programs, which includes source code hosting has been the first instantiation of SourceForge’s new platform.
